According to Vivendi Games, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King will be released this year for PC.
With this, WoW will get its second expansion, where you'll visit some very cold places. You will be able to travel north to the continent of Northrend and fight the undead minions of the Lich King. Later on after several content patches you will be able to fight the undead ruler himself. So go and farm some warm clothing!
Blizzard hasn't released a date yet, and doesn't want to confirm nor deny the words of their publisher. Still they always said that they wanted to release one expansion a year.

Microsoft can give themselves a gently pat on the back. They just sold their nineteenth million console. 10 million of them were sold in the US and currently they have around twelve million Xbox Live members.

Don Mattrick, senior vice president of Microsofts Interactive Entertainment Business and Devices Division, said that the console is still in the lead not only in the US, but also in Europe. He said that the Xbox 360 is the big winner of this console war.
"History has shown us that the first company to reach 10 million in console sales wins the generation battle."

Although Microsoft doesn't generally comment on rumours, they've made an exception this time. There won't be a new console from them in 2009.
"While we don't normally comment on rumors like this, we can tell you that we have no plans to release a new console in 2009".
Of course, one can wonder what they mean by "new console". A slim version of the Xbox360 isn't necessarily to be seen as a "new console".
Also, Microsoft will do anything to prevent people from waiting to buy their stuff as they want to continue selling. Who would buy a console if they know a newer version is going to be released in less than a year?

According to Deathknight.info, entering '/achievements' into the game's console brings up a brand new achievements interface, complete with test achievements with a points value.

Of course, given that this is alpha code this could still be nonsense, but we're intrigued to say the least.
