It's called evolving as a people. Those same "psychological oddities of recent generations" are why blacks and women can vote, why women don't have to sit at home, bake pies, and pump out babies. The world is and has always been changing, there is no reason to expect an adult of these times to be a carbon copy of an adult from years past. Hell, it wasn't that long ago that "adults" thought Rock music was the devil and only "kids" listened to it.

Don't get me wrong; WoW is a great "game". But if you want to truly immerse yourself in the game world around you, you're going to have to make a lot of excuses in order to make it work with the universe as the developers have envisioned it. And while the graphical visions in the world are stunning (and believe me they are; Blizzard Entertainment won a gamut of awards for their graphics last year), the beauty and dynamic feel to the world is simply crushed when you start looking at it from a role-playing perspective.
For starters, many of the instanced and epic quests are repeatable... is therefore hard for role-players to accept the world.

Prospective horror fans will finally get a chance to sink their teeth into bloody, mature MMO Requiem: Bloodymare beginning June 16, assuming they have signed up for either the Basic or Premium subscription package.

Though the game is free-to-play, players who sign on for one of the game's paid subscriptions get access to the game three days early. Freeloaders will have to wait until the June 19 to enter this virtual world.

The scattered wastes of Outland are all that remain of Draenor, the once beautiful homeworld of the orcs. Following the Second War, the Alliance invaded Draenor by crossing through the Dark Portal. To their horror, they discovered that Ner'zhul - the dark warlord of Horde - had constructed a series of new gateways that could lead the beaten Horde to newer, unspoiled worlds. As the Alliance forces closed in around him, Ner'zhul opened his gateways as a means of escape. However, the gateways' clashing energies resulted in a catastrophic explosion that ultimately ripped the world of Draenor apart.
Nearly thirteen years later - towards the end of the Third War - the fallen night elf, Illidan, discovered that huge chunks of Draenor still existed - floating upon the astral winds of the Twisting Nether. After his defeat at the hands of the evil Prince Arthas, Illidan fled to the remnants of Draenor and dubbed them Outland. He quickly seized control of the chaotic region and sealed the last of Ner'zhul's cursed gateways.
